EDITORIAL OBSESSIONS

By Phoebe Ann Brooks

Editorial Obsessions is a weekly round-up showcasing our team’s latest obsessions – from our favourite late-night snacks to the most binge-worthy shows to life-changing beauty products.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY UNREAL SKIN SHEER GLOW TINT HYDRATING FOUNDATION STICK

If you’re a fan of good looking skin, you’re going to love this foundation. The newest addition to Charlotte’s makeup bag promises a “ring-light effect” that blurs skin into a soft focus glow. The stick format is perfect for summer days and retouching, and you can blend using your finger tips for a flawless finish. There are twenty shades available, but we hope the Tilbury team are already working on more inclusive shades to add to the range so everybody can enjoy this gorgeous product.

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON

No spoiler zone!

Everyone's favourite morally-grey power couple Rhaenyra and Daemon are back on our screens. Whether you’re Team Black or Team Green, this show promises opulent costumes, fierce battles, and mighty dragons!

Our Editor says: “I watch it for the hot tea! Who’s killing who, who’s sleeping with who, who’s riding the dragons…I finish every episode with a visit to X (formerly Twitter) for the hilarious unhinged internet fan-theories and memes!”

ESPRESSO TONIC

Move over Negroni Sbagliato (“with prosecco in it…Oh, stunning”) there’s a new summer drink in town! Elevate your caffeine game with the newest drink of the season - Espresso Tonic! This simple but bubbly little drink is the perfect companion for any sunny day in the city.

Grab a short glass, throw in some ice, pour your tonic of choice, and top with one shot of your favourite espresso!

You’ll end up with something comparable to a fancy iced americano but you can dress it up with anything to your preference. We suggest a dash of sugar syrup and the rind of an orange to infuse the flavour and garnish!

CHAPPELL ROAN

Your favourite artist’s favourite artist…IYKYK.

Even if you’re not familiar yet, you have probably either heard Roan’s song Good Luck, Babe! all over your social media or you may have seen her now viral Lady Liberty outfit at the Governors Ball earlier this month.

This rising star has powerful vocals and unapologetic lyrics.

You can see Chappell Roan live in London in September look!

PRIDE

This June, Girl Dinner Magazine went to London Pride 2024 to stand with LGBTQIA+ people. We were obsessed that London was decorated in rainbows and we sang and danced on the streets in celebration!

But while we may celebrate for the month, allyship, activism, and advocacy are forever!

Take a look at why we still need Pride today.
